The following is an abbreviated version of the information on Catechetical Certification contained in the Catechist Handbook. Please refer to the handbook at your local parish office for complete information. LEVELS OF CERTIFICATION (forms) CATECHETICAL RECORD must be filled out for each level. (download form) Level I: (download form) CATECHETICS CATECHETICS - a minimum of 6 of the 48 clock hours These hours need to be completed within five years immediately preceding the initial application. Levels I and II also need to have: Level III: (download form) A master's degree in one of these areas with balance and breadth of content in the following areas of study: •At least three years of catechetical experience.

A total of 18 clock hours with some hours in each of the following areas:,

A total of 48 clock hours (cumulative Level I plus 30 clock hours) in the following areas:
THEOLOGY - a minimum of l5 of the 48 clock hours
SACRED SCRIPTURE - a minimum of 9 of the 48 clock hours
•A conference with the Pastor and the CRE/DRE or Principal upon completion of the 18 clock hours required.
•Application to the Catholic Center Office of Religious Education.
•Evaluation of the application by the Office of Religious Education. College credit hours previous to the five year period will be evaluated on an individual basis.
