Don't let your small groups die!
Begin now to plan for Lent 2012.  Adult education, or faith formation is not the same thing as creating small Christian communities.  Adult faith formation may occur in these small groups, but they are also a place where parishioners find encouragement in living the Christian way of life, and grow in prayer and faith in action.  Encourage and nurture parish small groups.  If your parish has the resources, offer more than one option for Lent.  We encourage you to consider Lifting Up Our Hearts if you did not participate in Fall 2011.  This six week study and reflection on the new Roman Missal is very easy to understand and will help adults appreciate the Sunday Eucharist so much more.  Another great resource is Lenten Longings, Cycle B.  Based on the three-year cycle of the Lectionary, each book contains six sessions corresponding to the six weeks of Lent and presents themes drawn from the year's Lenten readings.  To order these books online go to www.renewintl.org, or by phone call 1-888-433-3221.  The office of Religious Education has information about other adult faith formation and small group resources.

ARISE Together in Christ offers a parish-centered process of spiritual renewal and evangelization that enables people to deepen their faith, develop a closer relationship with Christ, grow in community, and reach out in service to others.

Pastors and parish leaders will learn about this exciting parish renewal process and have the opportuniby to sign up.  Representatives from RENEW will lead the presentation.  Bishop Johnston, karen Pesek and Milagros Calvetti will also attend.  ARISE is available in Spanish and English, and you will be able to learn about both at these information sessions.

IMPORTANT NEWS!  We have received a special extension grant to pay for this program, so there are NO PARISH FEES!  Don't miss this great opportunity.
